Taster Sessions
Start Your Archery Journey
A friendly introduction to archery where you’ll learn the basics, shoot safely, and see what the sport is all about – no experience needed.
What is a Taster Session?
A Taster Session is a relaxed introduction to archery where you can try the sport in a safe and friendly environment.
These sessions are perfect for anyone curious about archery but not quite ready to commit to a full beginners course. You’ll get the chance to shoot under the guidance of experienced club members, learn the basics of safe shooting, and see what the sport is all about.
No experience is needed and all equipment is provided – just bring yourself and a sense of curiosity.
During your session you’ll:
- Learn the basic safety rules of archery
- Receive simple guidance on how to hold and shoot a bow
- Shoot a number of arrows at the target
- Get tips from experienced club members
- Have plenty of opportunity to ask questions about the sport and the club
Our aim is simple – to give you a fun and welcoming first experience of archery.
Who Are These Sessions For?
Taster Sessions are ideal for:
- People who want to try archery for the first time
- Friends or families looking for a fun activity
- Anyone considering joining a club but wanting to try it first
- Those who simply want a unique experience for a day
There’s no expectation to join the club afterwards — just come along, enjoy the experience, and see if archery is for you.
Thinking About Taking It Further?
If you enjoy your session and would like to continue shooting, the next step is our Beginners Course, which teaches the full foundations of safe and confident archery and allows you to become a club member.
Our next Taster Session dates will be listed here.
